Smučišče Kope is the primary ski centre in the Koroška region, located at the westernmost point of the Pohorje mountain range, with elevations ranging from 1010 meters to 1542 meters above sea level, overlooking the town of Slovenj Gradec. The terrain of the ski resort is highly varied, thanks to the expansive meadows and flat areas typical of the easily accessible slopes of Pohorje. Between the mountain cabin Grmovškov Dom on Kope and Lodge Ribniška Koča, there is a 15 km long cross-country skiing trail. The long ski slopes of varying difficulty are suitable for all recreational skiers, as well as the most demanding ski enthusiasts. The elevation difference on the longest ski slope is an impressive 500 meters.
