With its unique ecosystem, Lake Ribniško is considered one of the hidden gems of Pohorje and is a must-see destination for every visitor to our region. If you’re looking for a short nature walk, start at the Ribniška koča mountain hut, from where the trail takes about 30 minutes to reach Lake Ribniško. For a longer hike, which takes a good two and a half hours one way, you can set off directly from the village of Ribnica na Pohorju.
On the way back, you can stop at the Ribniška koča, where homemade stews and blueberry strudel await you. Both trails will take you through the beautiful and unspoiled nature of our Pohorje region, offering you many stunning views; with a little luck, you might even spot a deer or pick some Pohorje blueberries.
