The mountain lodge at Pesnik is located in a small Pohorje settlement on a grassy plateau of Ribniško Pohorje. The building was constructed before World War II.
In 1945, it was modestly furnished and opened as the Shelter at Pesnik. At that time, it held special significance, as the nearby Lodge Ribniška Koča had been burned down during the war.
To follow the hiking trail to the lodge, start from the centre of the village of Ribnica na Pohorju and head past the ski resort towards Lodge Ribniška Koča. You will see Lodge Koča Pesnik on a clearing at an elevation of 1.101 meters above sea level.
You can also access it by car. The beautiful nature and wildlife are perfect for a carefree family getaway. From the lodge, there are lovely views of the surrounding peaks of Pohorje and the Drava Valley.
