The Drava Cycling Route is considered one of the most beautiful cycling routes in Europe due to its many natural beauties and rich cultural heritage.
It begins at the source of the Drava River in Italy and continues its journey through Austria into Slovenia. The route takes cyclists through Dravograd, Maribor, and Ptuj, all the way to the Slovenian-Croatian border. The Slovenian section of the route follows local roads and well-maintained cycling routes.
It is characterized by various types of terrain, while its most challenging feature is the ascent between Podvelka and Lovrenc na Pohorju, making this section suitable primarily for more experienced cyclists. The use of trekking or mountain bikes is recommended.
